| I just started painting my throttle body. So far the hardest part was cleaning it. I used brake cleaner and cleaned the hell out of it twice because the paint wasn't sticking too well after I cleaned it the first time. I got a few coats of black on it but I have to wait for it to dry so I can mask it off and add a little touch of red to accent it nicely Ill post pics when im done. Ok I just got done with the first phase of me painting my throttle body. I gotta wait for the paint to completely dry before I can finish it up and do phase 2. Here is what I got so far.... I cut off a finger on a rubber glove and used it to protect the electrical connector... Then i took another rubber glove and put it over the opening in the intake so nothing will go in there while my throttle body is off.... I masked off the throttle plate area and put on a few coats of black 500* engine enamel... I cant wait to finish it up tomorrow!!!! EDIT: Ok here is phase 2....

| Thanks! Sand blasted wouldof been pretty sweet but it seems to hold up pretty well with just spraying and wiping with the brake cleaner. I think I might have to redo the black though cuz I thought it was dry enough to put on tape to mask for the red but I was wrong. A little chunk of paint peeled off with the tape and I tried to touch it up but you can clearly see where the paint was missing. Its at the very top of the damn thing too, lol. If it was at the bottom, I wouldnt care. | |

| Nope, no primer. I just cleaned the hell out of it and then did a bunch of really light coats. I wasnt sure what kind of primer would go with the engine enamel. I used red engine enamel to try to paint my half covers when I first got them and I used the wrong primer and the paint looked like crap cuz it didnt stick too well. | |

Yeah I can do yours too. The next day I have off of work, im gonna help Dave sand down and paint his manifold so I can probably do your throttle body at the same time. I had work all last week and I am working Monday but im not sure how the rest of my work week is looking at the moment. What color did you want? | |
